#1 – Clean the battery terminals
Have you ever cleaned up your car battery? Probably not. But the truth is that cleaning the battery terminals is essential if you want it to reach the five years’ life expectancy mark we mentioned earlier, since battery terminals will corrode in the course of time, thereby contributing to degrading the battery.
To clean the corrosion that develops in the form of a powdery substance in the battery terminals, scrub it with a toothbrush (or any other soft brush) using a mixture of baking soda and water. Afterward, rinse it off with cold water and dry it properly using a clean cloth. Be very cautious during the entire cleaning process.
